Advanced Placement Statistics (AP): 11,12 The purpose of the AP course in statistics is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data.Students are exposed to four broad conceptual themes: 1) Exploring Data: observing patterns and departures from patterns, 2) Sampling and Experimentation: deciding what and how to study, 3) Understanding patterns in Advanced: Exploring random phenomena using probaility and simulation, 4) Statistical Inference: confirming models.
Algebra 1 (P): 9, 10, 11, 12 This course covers fundamental operations with rational numbers and exponents, factoring solving linear and quadratic equations and introduction of roots and trigonometry.
Algebra 2 (P): 10,11,12 More advanced coverage of the topics in Algebra 1 plus imaginary and complex numbers, graphing of quadratics, trigonometry, logarithm, sequences and series.
Geometry (P): 9, 10, 11, 12 This course covers logic and formula mathematics proofs, theorems, and formulas for plane figuress and circles, and a review of elementary trigonometry.
Trig./Pre-Calculus (P): 11,12 Covers advanced concepts, functions, identities and equations, solving of triangles, detailed study of stright line, circle, ellipse, parabola and hyperbola. The student will also be introduced to probability, statistics, derivatives, and concept of limits, along with analytic geometry.
