Important Information Regarding the 2018/2019 School Year

Welcome to Denair Elementary Charter Academy! We are happy to see new and familiar faces on campus. We hope this information will help you as you prepare for the upcoming school year.


  • School Starts on Wednesday, August 8th. CLASS LISTS will be posted the day before school starts, Tuesday, August 7th at 6:00pm. You will be able to find out who your child's teacher will be and their room number.
  • If you are an incoming Kindergarten student, you will be receiving a letter in the mail indicating your child's teacher and room number.
  • KINDER ONLY - The first day of school for ALL KINDER is Kindergarten Round Up. During this time students will meet the teacher and tour the classroom. Students and parents will come at the designated time below according to the beginning letter of their last name. Students and parents will leave Round Up together after they have met their teacher and completed the kindergarten questionnaire.

Last names beginning with A-M will come from 8:00 am-9:00am.

Last names beginning with N-Z will come from 9:00am-10:00am.


  • Bell Schedule is as follows:

Monday - Thursday

Kinder 8:00am-2:20pm Grades 1st-5th 8:00am-2:40pm


Fridays are minimums days

Kinder 8:00am-12:10pm. Grades 1st-5th. 8:00am-12:30pm

  • DECA will be serving FREE breakfast AND lunch to all students 18 years of age and younger.

For safety purposes ALL visitors, including parents, must immediately proceed to the office to sign in and receive a visitor’s pass before entering campus. Classroom visits must be prearranged with the classroom teacher prior to arrival. All visitors must sign out in the office upon departure. The visitor policy has been established to protect students and staff from the danger of an unauthorized person on campus.

Students are to refrain from communicating with, and are required to report, any person who attempts to communicate with them if they do not have a visitor’s badge. When arriving on campus all visitors should immediately report to the office to sign in a receive a visitor's badge. When signing in you are required to write your name, date, time in and destination. When leaving you are required to report to the office to sign out and record the time out. Any visit to campus during the school day requires a visitor's badge. Events include but are not limited to weekly classroom helpers, classroom and/playground observers, field trip chaperones, class presentations, and assemblies. Thank you for helping keep our students safe!

Volunteers & Chaperones

Parent volunteers and chaperones are sometimes needed to accompany students on field trips and to assist in classrooms. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to be a classroom volunteer and/or field trip chaperone. All parent volunteers/chaperones must be cleared through the volunteer application process. Volunteer applications can be picked up in the office. The application and all necessary accompanying documents must be turned in two weeks prior to volunteering/chaperoning in order for the application to be processed and applicant cleared.
